The caterer made them into lobster rolls and delivered them to the women’s shelter, and the Baptist church the next morning. We felt a little better about it. And I think we ate eight! 🤦🏻♀️
That must have been a special night for the church and shelter--I bet they remember it as well as you do. Although I once started a program to donate all the fancy bread and rolls that are left over and thrown out at the end of the day at our local 'boutique' supermarket. After two weeks of hauling bags and bags of portugese rolls, sourdough bread, french bread, etc to the shelter at 6:00 am everyday, imagining smiling faces and yummy sandwiches that were being made, the counselor who was receiving them said very gently one day, "you know, this is so incredibly nice of you, and I am sure there are people who would appreciate them, but the customers really prefer Wonder Bread!"
Your stories are priceless. What DID you do with 96 (accounting for the four you all ate) lobsters??

I can relate. It's a mind opening moment to realize that not everyone covets what we do. So great you can see it.
