When my daughter was little, I decided to raise her in the Jewish faith. It was the heritage her father was born into, and I considered it to be the crown jewel of faiths. Atoning for your sins once a year and getting a clean slate from which to begin anew each September. The belief that life and how you live it are what matters, not doing good deeds in expectation of a fabulous hereafter. Education. Discipline. Family. Judaism had me at hello.
Gratitude, gratitude, gratitude. I will be looking at passover with much more reverence this year. This blog also brought to mind Charlotte from Sex in the City! She worked so hard to become the Jew she wanted to be. First for the man in her life, and later for herself ❤️
I think that the lesson of this post is that we all need to focus on our own lives in our own context...not in comparison to others. By seeking internal strength and (hopefully) wisdom, we can continue to grow as we age and, if we are willing, use our growth to help others along their respective paths.

I truly enjoyed this piece, Christine. Happy Passover.
