My friend Maria was visiting me last week into Memorial Day weekend. On her first morning, she came upstairs and the following conversation ensued. “May I use your ironing board and iron?” “Sure, if I had one, you could surely use it, but I do not.”
Hilarious! Maybe you could start a Rent-an-Iron service as there must be others like you who only need an iron on rare occasions. Of course, the chemicals in n0-press/no-stain clothing that we all love now turn out to be carcinogenic so maybe irons will have a comeback.
I own an iron but no ironing board. My iron is about 30 years old and looks brand new because i have used it maybe 5 times. Maybe twice. Why did i buy it? Because i needed it once and my mom said every home needs one. She was wrong.
I don't own an ironing board or iron and I absolutely refuse. My daughter has been a girl scout for years and the iron on badges just keep piling up. Yes, occasionally I feel a twing of guilt but not enough to buy an iron.
