I think U2 has filled Madison Square Garden. But they started in 1976 so maybe that doesn't count, but I think of them as an 80's band. And, I was in love with Davey Jones too--but none surpassed Bobby Sherman, because he sang "Julie, Julie, Julie do you love me?"

U2 has with stood the test of time. I think of them as an 80s band also. Bobby Sherman there’s a blast from the past!

Right? I bet you hadn't thought of Bobby Sherman in 40 years. Me either, actually!

As usual, a fun read and another one that hits close to home. My daughter grew up with an appreciation of “our” music too. And, I got to see the Monkeys in concert when I was in first grade. Dave’s Jones was my heartthrob. I still have all of my vinyl from the 70s. Does that make me cool or does that make me a hoarder?

Yes Madonna. But she could not fill Madison Square Garden.

I think she can. I think the bands you mentioned are truly classics and will always fill a stadium. I think Madonna likes to reinvent herself, so I don't consider her a classic.

Interesting. I'm not sure I would go to see her now but I went to see her in the early 80's. Her transformations haven't kept me a fan, and I guess the bands that I'm talking about continue to play/sing what they did way back then? Interesting ....
